Carbon Sequestration Approaches and Technologies

There are two main ways to capture and sequester carbon dioxide to reduce carbon levels in the atmosphere: terrestrial sequestration and geologic sequestration.

Terrestrial sequestration involves the collection and storage of carbon dioxide by plants and the storage of carbon dioxide in soil. Geologic sequestration involves collecting and placing carbon dioxide into suitable underground formations for storage.
